Zazie Beetz, born 1991, was born in Berlin. Her father is who was a German cabinetmaker, who came to the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is her mother a South African American social worker. She graduated from the same high school as Jennifer Aniston. Beetz was a graduate of LaGuardia in 2007 attended Skidmore College and studied French. Following college, she auditioned and was selected for the part of Van at Atlanta. She was born in Berlin to an German father and an African-American mother, Beetz was brought up within New York speaking both German and English at her home. Zazie has been performing in local theaters from the time she was a young child. She found joy and began acting in elementary school. Zendaya landed an Disney Channel breakout role thanks to Zendaya's impressive dance abilities.
