A baby was strapped to my back as one crawled inside the playground. I worked 12 hour days, for months, sanding and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! The house was getting closer to being done, yet the project was still a way off. It was going to take an enormous amount of effort and my personal favorite brands to furnish this home. In order to stay the cost within my means, I took my boys along with me as I searched for treasures in estate sales. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through garage sales to purchase a mix of old and new pieces as well as spending on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. My first impression was similar to... This is when my desire to repair furniture was born. After our home was fully decorated, I couldn't quit! The local market had space to let me sell my pieces. I eventually had numerous pieces that I did not have a clue what to do with them and my storage space was a mess. The number of people who visited my home over the course of a weekend to purchase everything that was on the ground. Growing Days was founded in my house. When my business grew and so did our small family. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wished to balance being a mother as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days just seemed to be the right fit. My daughter Nora became our fourth child. It was a great direction for my business however, I needed an escape. I opted to take a little break from my antique furniture and slow down to be at home with my kids. It was exactly what I needed. It wasn't until a couple of months that my phone began to ring. They asked for my help in interior decoration and home renovations. Most of these people were people who had been through my property during open house for furniture! Once I had a few months I began to take on customers at my pace. Soon I had multiple accounts, as well as a house remodeling business. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business, I laughed. When I look back, it makes me laugh.
